Delete your SafeMom account
SafeMom (SafeMom LLC) lets you permanently delete your account and personal data. You can do this yourself inside the app, or request it by email.
Delete it yourself in the app
- Open the SafeMom app and sign in.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Type
DELETEto confirm.
Your session ends immediately and you are signed out.
Request deletion without the app
Email privacy@safemom.org from the email address on your account with the subject “Account deletion request.” We verify ownership of the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
For every deleted account, we permanently remove:
- Your name, photo, bio, phone number, children’s information, and emergency contacts
- Your group memberships, saved locations, and location history
- Your push-notification registrations and your sign-in identity (you can never sign in again)
- Files you uploaded, such as your profile photo and any identity document
For most members, deletion also permanently removes everything else tied to the account: posts, comments, direct messages, check-ins, RSVPs, and notifications.
What may be retained
If you created a group, hosted an event, or filed a safety report, those shared records cannot be deleted without harming other members who rely on them. In that case your personal information is scrubbed as described above, but the shared records — and content you contributed to shared spaces, such as posts, messages, and check-ins — may remain. They no longer carry your name, contact details, or other identifying information. We also retain safety reports where needed for the protection of other users and to meet our legal obligations. We retain nothing longer than required, and never use it to re-identify you. If you want this remaining content removed as well, email privacy@safemom.org and we will review the request.
